Know Before You Go:
Take the pull-offs on Seward Highway to see Lower and Upper Summit Lakes - if you are traveling south you will hit Lower Summit Lake first; the turn off for Upper Summit is just a little farther down the road.
Songbirds and swans visit in the warmer months along with Dolly Varden and rainbow trout.
Watch out for moose in the wetlands.
There are cabin rentals in this area if you choose to stay the night.
