Know Before You Go:
This parking lot is closed to private vehicles; either take the shuttle to this trailhead or park roadside on Desert View Dr and follow the path to the trailhead.
Pick this trail for great views of the canyon and far fewer crowds than Bright Angel; volunteers have built in wooden steps along steeper parts of the trail.
Note that Skeleton Point is not close to the bottom of the canyon, if you are looking to reach the base you will need to continue on this trail for many more miles.
