Know Before You Go:
As of Spring 2021, this trail has many dozens of downed trees; getting around them can be a challenge at times.
There are many great camping options along this trail including Crocker, Dewey, Taft and Glacier Points.
If you have two cars or can arrange for a ride you can do this hike as a point to point which will halve the distance.
There are many small streams to refill water if you hike in the late spring - later in the year Bridalveil Creek is the best place to get water.
Overnight permits are required to camp on this trail, you can reserve them through recreation.gov starting in 2022.
Bear canisters to store food are required in this area.
