Know Before You Go:

  • A very popular hike for sunrise or sunset - expect to find crowds at the top.

  • You will most likely be joined by many photographers and people doing wedding, engagement and graduation shoots.

  • On a clear day you will be rewarded with views of Mount Rainier, Mount Adams, Mount St. Helens and maybe even the Olympic Range.

  • As of 2021 the lookout structure has been removed for restoration that is projected to finish in 2023 - there is still a platform that makes for a good hangout spot.

  • Although this hike is best done in summer, people still venture here after the first snows of the season have fallen for winter photography. If you do hike in the snow, be sure to bring the proper footwear and gear and watch your step at the top.
