Know Before You Go:

  • Be prepared to fight the crowds here - this is a very popular stop along the Icefields Parkway but parking is usually not hard to come by, aim for later in the day to avoid the height of the crowds.

  • During your walk be sure to stop and read the information placards along the path which explain how the waterfall was formed and the history of the area.

  • Keep a close eye on children and do not climb over the railings - this waterfall is extremely powerful and the surrounding rocks are always wet and slippery from the spray making the area dangerous. Several deaths occur here every year - don't be one of them!
