Know Before You Go:

  • The second half of this trail is a real leg workout, but the views are worth the intense effort.

  • The incline up to Rawson Lake is gradual and it makes a great turning around point if you're looking for a shorter hike.

  • The lake is great for fishing or paddling.

  • To continue up to the ridge, follow the trail around the lake past the End of Trail sign until you see the path heading straight up. There are several different paths up, choose whichever feels the most secure to you.

  • Wear shoes with good traction and bring poles, the terrain is loose and footing can be difficult.

  • Do not attempt this trail if the weather is bad, wet weather could make the trail slippery and treacherous.

  • Use the ropes where provided for extra security. Take your time coming down and choose your footing wisely.
