Know Before You Go:
A great afternoon hike along the Icefields Parkway that offers perfect views of Athabasca Glacier from above and the surrounding mountains.
Keep an eye out for Big Horn Sheep.
Bring layers, it can get quite windy at the top.
The lot is small but turn over is fairly quick.
Pair this with the Parker Ridge Trail just down the road for a spectacular day of hiking.
This trail is best done in the summer and fall but can be down in winter when weather permits if you're up for a climb in snowshoes.
If you’d like to extend this hike you can walk the entire pass making the trip a point to point walk, finishing at the Tangle Creek Falls parking lot on the other side - you can either stage a second vehicle to return to your start point or walk back. This option makes the trail about 7 miles one direction or 14 round trip.
