Know Before You Go:

  • There are many ways to tackle this trail. We recommend taking the Whistler Village Gondola and beginning at the top of Whistler Mountain rather than hiking in from Singing Pass (the hike up from Singing Pass is rather monotonous with no views). A day pass to ride the gondolas costs $89 CAD and can be purchased upon arrival.

  • Russet Lake tends to be very buggy, bring lots of spray and bug nets.

  • There are bear wires at the campsite and a toilet.

  • The hike does cross several mountain bike trails so be alert when entering these areas.

  • If you’d like to make this a shorter day hike, loop back around to the gondola on the Half Note or Hi Note trail instead of continuing on to the Musical Bumps. The crowds tend to thin out once you reach this intersection.

  • Be sure to note gondola running times on the day you are planning your visit so you don't get stranded!

  • It is possible to finish this point to point in one day, however we recommend splitting your hike with a stop overnight at Russet Lake. You will need a permit from BC Parks to camp here.
