A family friendly trail that is extremely well maintained.
This trail is incredibly popular and gets extremely crowded in the summer months - we recommend arriving very early or very late to avoid the majority of crowds.
The best light is in the late afternoon/evening.
During peak season, May-Oct you will need to reserve a free day-use pass at bcpark.ca. These are available two days in advance of your chosen day and sell out quickly so plan ahead. Park employees do patrol the trail and ask for proof.
The middle lake is the most photographed but the upper lake gets you the best views of the glacier.
Be sure to stop and check out the waterfall between the middle and upper lake.
Don’t forget this is grizzly country so carry bear bells and be alert.
Please do your part and pack out any and all trash that you bring with you, we saw a dishearteningly large amount of waste items all along this trail.
