Know Before You Go:
Expect crowds and steep inclines the whole way up.
A great hike for sunset but don't forget a headlamp for the way down!
Columbia Rock, about 1mi in, provides great views of Half Dome and is a good turn-around point if you are looking for a shorter hike.
Please be careful upon reaching the top - there are no guard rails and the drop to the valley below is deadly. The park experiences accidental deaths here regularly.
