A beautiful, unique stop on the Road to Hana.
Advanced reservations are required to visit, they can be made as far as two weeks in advance or the day before here. (Beginning in May, reservations may be made up to 30 days ahead). Note: Hawaii residents are exempt from day use fees and reservation requirements with valid ID.
If you have extra time at the Black Sand Beach, hike this very short trail which follows this remote, state park coastline.
Enjoy views of the beach behind you as you pass by blowholes, lava arches and jagged cliffs.
Please respect any burial mounds you come across and refrain from stacking any rocks; these areas are Hawaiian historical remnants but are unmarked and unprotected.
