Know Before You Go:
Located right by Zablan Beach, a local’s spot for cookouts and surfing, is Mermaid Caves.
Walk across the lava rocks to find large openings that give you views of the water below.
It is not recommended to jump in or swim here due to dangerous tides that can sweep you out to sea. However, others have sometimes placed step ladders to walk into these caves during low tide and calmer waters in the summertime.
