A photographer's paradise, this spot is a favorite place to catch a sunset!
Be careful on the short trek (2-3 min) down to the cliffs - the rocks may be slippery.
Don't cliff jump into the water as the waves here are very strong.
This area is unique because you can identify the various layers of lava flow that have formed over time. Additionally, the lava rock is not a normal black but a green-ish color caused by the mineral, olivine.
Because this spot lies just outside the preserve’s official boundaries, there is no fee to park here.
