Know Before You Go:
Come at sunrise for the best colors.
During the rainy season, water can collect on the surface of the salt flats to create beautiful reflections.
Do not drive onto the flats as your car can get stuck and the flats are very fragile. During dry months, people do drive right onto the edges of the flats but note that exposure to the salt can erode your tires.
There are multiple pull-off spots on the east and wide sides of the flats.
