Purchase your pass/day-use fee before arriving at the trailhead.
This is an excellent trail to visit during shoulder season as the snow provides an element of interest to the normally arid, barren landscape.
If you hike here in the summer, bring lots of water as the climate is very dry.
We recommend hiking the loop counterclockwise for the best views.
This trail is best done in the late afternoon if you're looking for good photography light.
You can find bathrooms just down the road at the Coldwater Lake parking lot.
