The final 12 miles of road to the trailhead are quite rough and some sections require driving through standing water depending on the time of year.
Self issuing backcountry permits are available at the trailhead for overnighters.
The trail between Marmot and Jade Lakes can be hard to follow at times so be sure to have your offline map downloaded.
Try to camp at Jade Lake if you can - it is worth making the final climb with your packs!
If you are feeling extra ambitious, ascend the ice-field at the far side of Jade Lake by kayaking or swimming across to get views of Pea Soup Lake and Jade Lake from above.
