This hike is a leg burner but the views from the top are absolutely worth the intense effort to get here.

The lookout point offers 360 mountain views as far as the eye can see.
Incredible wildflower displays appear once you reach the higher, more exposed portions of the trail.
The route is extremely well defined and easy to follow.
Poles may be helpful since the trail grade is steep most of the way - and be sure to wear boots with good traction.
You can find snow patches here fairly late into the season so micro spikes may also come in handy.
Bring many layers and rain gear just in case, the weather conditions can change very quickly at the top.
Camping is only allowed at the designated campsite along the trail and requires a pre-reserved permit which you can get at recreation.gov.
Dogs are not allowed.
