As of summer 2022 the last few miles of the road to the trailhead are extremely rough and poorly maintained, a high clearance vehicle is a must. Large rocks, deep ruts and downed trees make this stretch close to impassable for smaller vehicles.
Mosquitos here can be ferocious in the summer, bug spray is essential!
